Kambalda’s quest for a big 2025 campaign in the Goldfields Football League were launched this week with the opening preseason session on Tuesday night.

The Eagles were without a win last year, but they have been proactive in bolstering their ranks for the new season.

It included popular clubman Toby Hickmott last September being elevated to the senior coaching position.

Hickmott was the Eagles’ assistant coach, under Ryan Fisher, for the second half of the 2024 campaign.

Kambalda officials said Hickmott brought “an impressive background in football, and understanding of the club, community and our people”.

The Eagles’ last premiership was in 1985, under the late Maurie Lee who died in 2021.

Club preseason training for all senior grades at Kambalda West Oval is each Tuesday and Thursday from 6.30pm.
