For those who can cope with heat and humidity, a 25 per cent discount has just been announced for accommodation and activities in Kakadu.

They apply to the Kakadu seasons of Kudjewk and Bangkerreng, from now until the end of April, including the Easter holiday.

The NT Government’s $1 million incentive scheme brings the discount to bookings through Tourism Top End up to a total value of $5000 for travel booked and completed by April 30. It is on a first-come, first served basis.

+ The Mercure Kakadu Crocodile Hotel in Jabiru, in the heart of Kakadu, has a big swimming pool, comfortable rooms for couples and families, and rates reduced from $189 to $142 a night, per room (subject to conditions and availability).

+ Cooinda Lodge has a range of accommodation from villas, to air-conditioned glamping tents and lodge rooms. Yellow Water Cruises is based next door. Outback Retreat glamping tents (for up to four guests) are from $150 a night after the discount. The new Yellow Water Villas have a discount of $198 a night, bringing them to $597 a night, breakfast included.
