West Coast’s famous No.17 jumper will be back in action next season, with ex-Richmond recruit Jack Graham entrusted with carrying on a considerable legacy.

Not since Josh Kennedy’s final AFL game - when he booted eight goals in 2022’s unforgettable farewell - has the number been seen in an Eagles game, with the jumper shelved for the past two seasons.

But like Kennedy and previous No.17 wearer Daniel Chick, the number has gone to a high-profile eastern-states recruit.

That pair and West Coast trailblazer Guy McKenna are the sole players to wear the No.17 on a permanent basis, and Graham will be ultimately looking to join that trio as premiership heroes in blue-and-gold.

Graham’s flag-winning teammate at Richmond, Liam Baker, has taken over Andrew Gaff’s No.3 - a number with its own strong history at the club after previously belonging to Chris Mainwaring and Chris Judd.

Fellow recruit Matt Owies inherits the No.16 strip last worn by Luke Edwards, while top draftee Bo Allan will don the No.26 jumper given up by Zane Trew.

The No.37 strip will need a size downgrade, with 172cm forward Malakai Champion filling the void left by departed key defender Tom Barrass.

Tom Gross takes over Jack Darling’s old No.27, while Lucca Grego (No.31), Jobe Shanahan (No.35) and Hamish Davis (No.38) also settled on their numbers after being drafted last week.
