Fenerbahce manager Jose Mourinho has received a three-match suspension and a fine for "unsportsmanlike conduct" over his behaviour during a heated Turkish Cup quarter-final against Galatasaray.

The two Super League sides have been on bad terms since Wednesday's Istanbul derby, when Mourinho appeared to poke the Galatasaray coach Okan Buruk in the nose during a heated exchange.

Turkey's Professional Football Disciplinary Board (PFDK) ruled that Mourinho's ban applies to Cup matches, allowing the Portuguese to continue coaching in the league, including Sunday's clash with Trabzonspor.

Meanwhile, Fenerbahce midfielder Fred and Mert Hakan Yandas received three and one-match suspensions each.

Fenerbahce assistant coach and goalkeeper coach were each banned for four games while sporting director Mario Branco was fined.

The PFDK has yet to announce its decision on Galatasaray and players Baris Alper Yilmaz and Kerem Demirbay, who were also referred for disciplinary review.

The controversy comes amid a difficult stretch for Mourinho, whose team have already been eliminated from the Europa League and who now trail Galatasaray by six points in Turkish top league.
