South African Jacques Kruyswijk has shot a superb third-round 64 to move ahead of England's John Parry atop the Kenya Open leaderboard.

Kruyswijk carded seven birdies in a bogey-free round that took him into a one-stroke lead on 14 under par at Muthaiga Golf Club in Nairobi on Saturday.

Overnight leader Parry was second on 13 under after signing for a one-over-par 72.

Kruyswijk, who began seven shots off the lead, coped well with the wind to climb into contention for a maiden European tour victory.

His round might have been even better had an eagle putt dropped on the fourth while he almost chipped in on the ninth.

Parry failed to match the standards he set in the opening two rounds, in which he did not drop a shot, but a birdie at the 18th kept him within touching distance.

Frenchman Benjamin Hebert was two shots further back on 11 under with another South African, Dean Germishuys, 10 under.
