Serong’s stranglehold on the derby continued as the 24 year-old added to his medals in 2021, 2023 and 2024 and he is the first back-to-back winner of the award since Shannon Hurn in 2018.
The star midfielder’s medal win came by just one vote over engine room running mate Andrew Brayshaw, who could consider himself unlucky after earning top votes from two of the three judges.
Unstoppable at the coalface, Serong tallied 10 clearances to go with 35 disposals, 17 contested possessions, five inside-50s, four score involvements and 498 metres gained.
Brayshaw will have to wait for his maiden Glendinning-Allan medal despite an impressive 29 disposals, nine inside-50s, seven tackles, six clearances and 696 metres gained.

Josh Treacy, who kicked three goals in the second quarter to give his side an advantage when the game was up for grabs, also garnered votes.
