The rivalry is hot on the footy field - and it seems just as fierce off it, with West Coast fans showing Fremantle supporters the way when it comes to WA’s biggest tipping competition.

While the Dockers are tipped by most punters to finish well ahead of the Eagles this season, it seems it’s West Coast fans that are leading the way when it comes to tipping - with more than twice as many of them signing up to The Game compared to their Freo rivals.

In fact, Eagles supporters make up 46.18 per cent of total tipsters who have declared a favourite team compared to the 21.43 per cent of Dockers fans.

There is $50,000 cash up for grabs for the overall top tipper thanks to TABtouch, plus $1000 each week for the round’s best tipper thanks to Thirsty Camel.

One tipper will also win a Mazda BT-50 SP valued at more than $73,000 just for tipping.

Last year, Freo fan Sam Cordin won the $50,000 as the overall winner with 143 correct tips, beating 39,031 other tippers to take out the top spot.

There will also be a full panel of expert tips if you need a hand in Wednesday’s bumper season launch edition of Pre Game.

Put your knowledge to the test against some of the game’s best including Ryan Daniels, Xavier Ellis, Abbey Holmes and Mark Duffield.

The season kicks off on Wednesday night with the grand final rematch between Melbourne and the Western Bulldogs on 7Mate from 5.30pm - so sign up to The Game now.
