He'll take chicken twisties over cheese, can't remember the last time he caught a train to work and reckons anyone suggesting he's had botox is dreaming.

Those are just some of the gold nuggets extracted from Anthony Albanese's recent FM radio blitz.

Senior ministers have spent the past seven days debating whether to scrap or scale back tax cuts they promised to keep at the election.

Mr Albanese has largely stayed out of the fray, apart from two press conferences late in the week.

Instead, the prime minister has been dialling into commercial radio stations across the country, including Perth's Nova FM.

Having declined the host's recommendation of a "good sushi shop" to take the Japanese leader to when they meet in Perth later this month, Mr Albanese revealed security measures mean he's not allowed to drive a car.

Not even, as the hosts clarified, to reverse a car if someone is double-parked in the driveway.

"I stayed at Marrickville, my home, for as long as I could, I was quite happy to stay there," he said.

"The security arrangements were such that the neighbours were very relieved when I moved out, they could park again because there weren't multiple cars clogging the street."

Over on Perth's Mix 94.5 FM, in between answering questions on green energy and cost of living pressures, he controversially opted for chicken over cheese twisties, an easy decision he'd made more than 50 years ago.

But perhaps nothing topped his hit on Sydney's Nova 96.9 FM, where he fielded questions on his recent "glow-up" and whether he'd been given any artificial help.

"Seriously, whoever wrote that article has been having botox in the wrong place," the PM said of an article suggesting he might have had some work done.

"They're in real strife."

Mr Albanese's weight loss tips included not eating bread, having boiled eggs for breakfast and refraining from snacking between main meals.

But he stopped short of recommending anyone give up alcohol, suggesting he'll find time for a beer when he can.

"You've got to live."
