Jessica Aber: Former US attorney with Biden administration found dead in Alexandria, Virginia residence

Jessica Aber, a former US Attorney selected by former President Joe Biden, has been discovered dead inside a residence.
Emergency services were called to a residence in Alexandria, Virginia on Saturday morning, following reports of a woman unconscious.
On arrival, police discovered Ms Aber, a 43-year-old former US Attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia, deceased.
“As a matter of protocol, an investigation is underway surrounding the circumstances of her death. The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner of Virginia will determine the cause and manner of death,” a police spokesperson said.
Pam Bondi, current Attorney General for the Trump administration, described Ms Aber’s death as tragic.
“The loss of Jessica Aber, former US Attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia, is deeply tragic. Our hearts and prayers go out to her family and friends during this profoundly difficult time,” she said.
Ms Aber was appoint in 2021 when Mr Biden took office. She stepped down in January when US President Donald Trump returned to office.
Virginia Attorney General Jason Miyares said Ms Aber as saved more lives that the US may ever realise.
“I am saddened to learn of the passing of Jessica Aber, whose career of public service included US Attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia and whose work with Ceasefire Virginia saved more lives than we may ever realise,” he wrote.
