Hundreds of NFL fans have flocked to Optus Stadium for an all-American-themed viewing of Super Bowl LIX.

Kansas City Chiefs are looking to secure their third straight Super Bowl win but the Philadelphia Eagles have other ideas as the two NFL powerhouses take over the New Orleans Superdome on Monday morning.

And in Perth — on the other side of the world — about 300 fans packed out the Optus Stadium sports bar to soak up the action with plenty of US-style food and drinks bright and early.

With Philadelphia leading at halftime, Chiefs’ fan Carlene Thorpe was adamant her team would make a comeback win.

“We are having the best time,” she said.

“This is such an amazing venue to watch the Superbowl and we are so glad we came — it was worth getting up at 5am for.

“This (shirt) is from the United States, it’s official NFL merchandise, we bought this about a month ago thinking the Chiefs would make it — and they did.”

“5am, up, glam, outfits been planned for like two weeks since they made the Super Bowl.”

“This is not the first time the Chiefs have played Philadelphia in the Super Bowl and we’ll win it again.”

At Optus, hotdogs, mac and cheese bites, buffalo wings, beer and plenty of mimosas were being served to sporting fans.

Asha Ricketts, 19, has been watching the Super Bowl with her dad for the last three years and said she couldn’t miss another one.

“We have a mate who is from the US and they support Philadelphia, so why wouldn’t we come here today,” she said,” she said.

“I’m on my fourth one (mimosa) and it’s only 8.25am.”

In the US watching the action from the stands was Taylor Swift — the girlfriend of Chiefs’ star Travis Kelce.

Jessica Holland, 20, only came along because she’s a diehard Swiftie.

“I’ve always loved Taylor throughout listening to her music, I came with my dad so I decided to go with the Chiefs today,” she said.

“This is honestly my first time watching NFL. . . I like it, I’d watch it again.”
