Boy, 12, dies after falling into grain silo

A 12-year-old boy has died after falling into a grain silo on a farm in the State’s South West yesterday.

The boy and an 11-year-old were sitting on the silo as it was being towed across a farm in Dinninup, east of Boyup Brook.

The boys both accidentally fell into the grain silo and despite resuscitation attempts the 12-year-old died at the scene.

Police say the boys were helping a family friend when the incident occurred.

Worksafe were advised and a report will be prepared for the coroner.
