Two beer products recalled over safety fears ahead of Easter weekend

Coles Group are recalling two beer products due to a chemical contamination ahead of the Easter long weekend.

The beer beverages – Uberbrau Ultra Low Alcohol Lager 330mL and Henninger Lager Bottle – were available for purchase between April 2 and April 15 online and in-store at Liquorland, First Choice Liquor Market and Coles Online in Western Australia.

The beverages have been recalled after a chemical appeared on the outer packaging of the beer, resulting in an “unpleasant odour”.

“Food products contaminated with chemicals may cause illness if consumed,” the Australian and New Zealand Food Standards statement read.

Customers who purchased the product have been warned to not consume the product, and instead dispose of it.

People can seek a full refund for their purchases, whether online or in-store, from any Liquorland, First Choice Liquor Market or Vintage Cellars store.
