Geraldton road safety clip urges cyclists off harvest roads
A road safety message by the City of Greater Geraldton is urging cyclists to stay off some country roads as trucks hit the highways for the annual end-of-year harvest.
The video, produced by Dragonfly Media, shows a lycra-clad cyclist riding along a country road as two road trains approach.
A shot of one of the road trains overtaking the cyclist is followed by aerial footage of the two road trains passing by in opposite directions.
The ad closes with the message “don’t get cleaned up in the harvest,” and a call to avoid riding on harvest roads from October until the end of the year.
Backers of the message include CBH Group, State Government agencies, BTEC Hire, Geraldton Triathlon Club and Spokes Cycle Club.
