After months of preparation the Harvey Show is only days away with organisers keen for a family fun event

The region’s biggest agricultural event is now only a few days away. After months of preparation this year’s Harvey show is set to be bigger and better than ever, according to event organisers. The show kicks off on April 25 and runs though until the 26, with a smorgasbord of family fun to be had. Harvey Agricultural society president Dom Fazzolari said the Harvey Show had seen some significant changes since the early days of the event, but it still retains a focus on family. “It’s not just a place for a farmer to go and buy a new tractor and show his cattle or sheep, it’s a family get-together,” he said. “I remember when I was at primary school, long time ago, the only time we used to get new clothes was for the Harvey Show so the whole family looked good, because we would all go to the Harvey Show as a family. “And today, it is still a family-minded type of event.” Mr Moore said the event was aiming to champion its roots, with agriculture still the heart of the show. “Our focus is to bring agriculture out to the forefront,” he said. Pam Fazzolari said this year is going be be even bigger than before with new stores and entertainment hitting the field. Jan Marinko said they are excited to only have a few weeks to go with it all coming together. “We’ve got sheep shearing, wood chopping, cattle and highland cattle, we’ve got kids free zone, we’ve got our master dogs and more,” she said. “This is one of the things that makes Harvey the great place it is to live.” Mrs Marinko said this year they are hoping to avoid the queues at year’s event, so tickets can be bought online to avoid having to line up.
