Candidates for the seat of Kalgoorlie will make a five-minute pitch to the local business community before a question-and-answer session in the lead-up to next month’s State election.

The Kalgoorlie-Boulder Chamber of Commerce and Industry will host its Meet the MLA Candidates Luncheon on Wednesday with sitting member Ali Kent of WA Labor, the Liberals’ Rowena Olsen, the Nationals’ Tony Herron and independent candidate Kyran O’Donnell.

Election hopefuls will give an opening statement before a 45-minute session fielding questions from the floor.

Chief executive Simone de Been said the KBCCI member-only event would provide the Goldfields business community an opportunity to learn what each candidate had planned for the region.

“It’s a great way to meet the candidates and hear directly from them,” she said.

“If anyone has got any questions, this is a fantastic way to direct their questions to all of the candidates.

“We definitely encourage all of our members to attend.”

The luncheon will be at the KBCCI’s Egan Street boardroom from noon to 1.30pm.

As of Monday morning, Ms de Been said only four tickets were left.

KBCCI members can register on the Chamber’s website.

Lunch will be provided.
