Forty-eight Kalgoorlie Dance Academy students took their 2022 examinations across two days last week.

The dance students, aged from four to 20, were examined in ballet, jazz, tap, classical and contemporary by Comdance examiner Deanne Smith.

Ms Smith said the children were extremely enthusiastic about learning to dance.

“I’ve spent five days in Kalgoorlie and have seen some really great work here,” she said.

“I was here three years ago and I have seen an improvement in standards since then.”

Kate Grant, mother to three KDA dance students, said she treasured every opportunity that encouraged her daughters to perform at their best.

“For our youngest Charli, this was her first ever dance exam. She has worked hard in class and at home and it’s great to see her bonding with her friends over the routine,” she said.

“We are lucky to have wonderful teachers encouraging the dancers to be their best.”
