The Mullewa colts have etched their name into the Great Northern Football League history books, joining the list of recent champions to defend their title.

The Saints side capped off their impressive season by claiming the flag over Northampton in last weeks grand final, getting up 11.16 (82) to 8.1 (49).

It comes off the back of their win against the Rams in last years decider, which they won by a tighter margin of 8.10 (58) to 8.2 (50).

They join the list of repeat champions in the colts, with the sides proving to be strong over multiple years before moving into the league teams.

Most recently the mantle was taken by Towns, who claimed back-to-back premierships in 2021 and 2022, where they beat Railways and Mullewa.

While before that, Chapman Valley had their run of dominance winning four straight flags in the colts, reaching the pinnacle in 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2019.

Going back one further, Railways had their dominant stretch in the colts with a hat trick of flags coming in 2013, 2014 and 2015.

Mullewa have put their name among some of the best and will look to put their name among the best when they aim to be three-time premiers next season.
