Residential block collapse in India kills at least 11
At least 11 people have died after a multi-storey residential block collapsed near New Delhi, Indian media reports citing police say.
According to the reports, 11 people have been pulled alive from the rubble and the search for survivors is ongoing.
The block collapsed in Mustafabad in the northeast of Delhi state.
Images published showed a heap of rubble between other residential blocks.
The confined conditions were hampering rescue work, a spokesman for the National Disaster Response Force told the PTI news agency.
The cause of the collapse was unclear.
PTI reported on the basis of police information that construction work had recently been done in the building's ground floor.
Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta has ordered an investigation.
