Muhammad Usman: Uber driver seriously injured in fatal Dalkeith crash moved out of intensive care unit

The 25-year-old Uber driver seriously injured in a deadly Dalkeith crash has been moved out of the intensive care unit at Royal Perth Hospital. The West Australian has confirmed doctors considered Muhammad Usman, who remains in a serious but stable condition, well enough to be moved out of the ICU on Wednesday afternoon. Mr Usman sustained two broken femurs and a broken arm after Rhys Bellinge’s speeding Jaguar allegedly crashed into the rideshare vehicle about 10.15pm on Saturday night. The 24-year-old passenger of the Uber, Elizabeth Pearce, was rushed to RPH with serious injuries where she later died. Dr Bellinge — an obstetrician at Concept Obstetrics and Gynaecology — was allegedly speeding at 130km/h at almost four times the legal alcohol limit. He has been charged with manslaughter and dangerous driving causing grievous bodily harm in circumstances of aggravation and was denied bail on Wednesday. An Uber spokesperson said they had “extended our deepest condolences to the victims and their families”. “This is a tragic and shocking occurrence, and we extend our deepest condolences to the victims and their families,” they told The West Australian on Tuesday. “We will be reaching out to them to offer our support where appropriate, and we are cooperating fully with the authorities as they investigate this incident.”
