Police have released images of a ute ablaze in what the Arson Squad believe was an attack on a Midland vape shop.

There are also images of the ute being driven just before the incident, which caused $500,000 of damage to the business and a neighbouring cafe.

Police on Saturday issued an appeal for witnesses and information from the public to assist the Arson Squad’s investigation.

Emergency services were called to the premises along Great Eastern Highway, near Tuohy Lane, about 2.30am on Friday after flames had taken hold of the building.

An abandoned and torched white Nissan Navara ute was partially inside the shop, called A-Deal Tobacconist.

Arson Squad officers conducted a fire scene examination and determined the fire was deliberately lit.

Investigators urge anyone who saw the white Nissan Navara utility travelling in the area prior to the incident to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or here.

All reports can be made anonymously.

Anyone with CCTV, mobile phone, or dash-cam vision of the area between 1.30am and 3.30am, can upload it direct to police via the link.

Rewards of up to $25,000 are available for information that leads to the identification and conviction of an arsonist.
