Attorney-General Christian Porter is calling on Premier Mark McGowan to move on relaxing WA’s border to the east immediately.

Speaking to The West Live’s host Jenna Clarke this morning, the Pearce MP will be quizzed on why he thinks opening the border is in the State’s best interest.

Later in the show, Jenna will speak to ex-Wildcats captain and newly appointed Reconciliation WA chief executive Andrew Vlahov who is calling for the issue to “go mainstream” — declaring every West Australian has a duty to learn about the State’s tough past.

Speaking to The West Australian on Tuesday in honour of Reconciliation Week from May 27 to June 3, Mr Vlahov said his key message was “it’s OK for non-Aboriginal people to not know, but it’s not OK to ignore”.

Are we finally on the road to repairing our relationship with First Nations people? Hear what Mr Vlahov has to say after 8.45am.

And after a busy and slightly awkward week for the State Government over the sheep ship fiasco Channel Seven senior reporter Geof Parry will be on the show to provide his commentary from Parliament.

Listen to The West Live at 8.45am
