A baby is fighting for life while a toddler and 10-year-old were injured in a horror collision in Melbourne’s west.

The head-on collision took place about 12.20am at Station Rd near Tulloch St in Deer Park about 12.20am on Friday.

A one-year-old baby girl suffered life-threatening injuries in the crash, while a 20-month old girl and 10-year-old girl suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

All three adults in the same car as the children – a 22-year-old woman, 25-year-old woman and 27-year-old man – suffered minor injuries, with all six adults and children taken to hospital.

The 22-year-old driver of the other car was uninjured and arrested at the scene.

The Niddrie man is set to be interviewed over dangerous driving causing serious injury.

Police have urged anyone with information to come forward.
