Keep Australia Beautiful WA Clean Schools offers creative stickers to help manage school litter
Keep Australia Beautiful WA Clean Schools is offering West Australian schools custom-made stickers for their bins, to encourage kids to put rubbish in them.
Clean Schools is Keep Australia Beautiful WA’s whole-school litter-prevention program that encourages the correct disposal of waste.
Students are invited to design a big bin sticker with a positive message and striking image that encourages Keep Australia Beautiful WA’s key message: “Bin it. You know it’s the right thing to do!”
Participating schools will then be provided with 18 bin stickers featuring their students’ designs. This can include nine different designs, with two of each design printed.
Head to the Keep Australia Beautiful website — kabc.wa.gov.au/get-involved/ clean-schools — to find out more.
The offer is open to schools registered in the Clean Schools program. You can check if your school is registered by emailing cleanschools@kabc.wa.gov.au.
Posters for schools on the importance of sorting waste correctly and putting it in the right bin are also available. The WasteSorted posters are free to download and will work hand -in-hand with the student- designed stickers. Go here to download them.
The Clean Schools program is supported by the Government of Western Australia and the Waste Authority.
KABC Chairman Michael Aspinall says the aim of the project is to give students the opportunity to become involved in preventing litter by being creative and thinking about positive ways to encourage the Clean Schools message.
“We look forward to seeing the colourful and creative designs that the students come back with. Their beautiful work will be on display for everyone to see and will help promote cleaner school environments throughout Western Australia,” Mr Aspinall says.
