British actor and presenter Joanna Lumley has proven to Perth that after a career spanning five decades, she still has time for her fans.

The 78-year-old arrived in WA on Friday afternoon, greeting long-time supporters ahead of her live show, Joanna Lumley: Me & My Travels, at Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre on Saturday night.

Lumley will share insights from her travels and most notable works, including her most famous role — playing Patsy Stone in 90s sitcom Absolutely Fabulous.

“We’ll be saying it all. Me and my travels, about being young, my parents travelling, just generally, and lots of Patsy as well,” she told The West Australian.

Part-way through her five-city tour, Lumley spoke glowingly of her previous visits to Australia, as well as her most recent city stops.

“I loved it each time, and this time, seeing new cities, seeing Adelaide for the first time, Hobart for the first time,” she said.

“But I have been to Perth a long time ago and loved it. Looking forward to seeing the great changes.”

Lumley will be joined on stage by friend and producer Clive Tulloh, who’s set to encourage the audience to quiz the affable personality on her decorated career.

Considered a national treasure in England, the multi-talented star was a model in the early 70s before starring in shows The New Avengers, and Sapphire and Steel as she honed her acting career.

Following her Absolutely Fabulous fame, she has appeared in films such as The Wolf of Wall Street and Falling for Figaro.
