“Father, Son and house of Gucci.”

This is the line that will become synonymous with Lady Gaga’s predicted Oscar-worthy performance in House of Gucci, and the line everyone is going to be dubbing on TikTok.

Gaga leads a star-studded — and appropriately accoladed — cast in the fashion murder mystery film that details the true life story of Maurizio Gucci, played by Adam Driver, and his cunning ex-wife Patrizia Reggiani (Gaga).

Fans got their very first taste of what director Ridley Scott has in store when the Born This Way singer dropped the trailer for the film on her YouTube channel yesterday.

And everyone was goo-goo for Gaga, from the surprise inclusion of a perfectly executed Italian accent to her soon-to-be iconic crossing of her chest as she is asked “can you keep a secret?” — reminding fans that this is more than a film, it’s an artistic journey that immortalises luxury, money, fame, power and murder.

The two-minute teaser confirms Gaga is at the centre of Scott’s lens as he explores Reggiani’s real life modus operandi in the lead up to her ordering her ex-husband Maurizio’s murder.

Gaga’s Italian accent purrs as her voice over opens the trailer and quickly sets the scene: “It was a name that sounded so sweet, so seductive.

“Synonymous with worth, style, power,” she continues.

“But that name was a curse, too.”

The trailer continues to be dotted with references to its 1980s time line (think big hair, and even bigger shoulder pads) and every scene the presence of a different Academy Award winner is felt — from Al Pacino to Jeremy Irons.

The film is due in Australian cinemas on November 25.
