Introducing MetEye, the Weather Bureau's new interactive, animated seven-day weather forecasting system.

It will be a handy tool for farmers, emergency service workers and spraying and spreading contractors.

Launched in July, MetEye will provide detailed forecasting information down to a 6sqkm grid.

Digital Farm TV spoke to the Bureau of Meteorology's Vernon Carr, national manager public and agriculturalweather services, to find out more about MetEye's map viewer and local weather web pages.

The service provides temperatures, wind speed, wind direction and rainfall predications in three-hourly time blocks.

Farmers can use their longitude and latitude information to access accurate, detailed forecasts.

MetEye was developed as part of the Next Generation Forecast and Warning System, a $30 million upgrade of weather services through BOM and funded by the Federal Government.
