Shane Love unveiled as new Nationals WA deputy
Member for Moore Shane Love has been unveiled as Nationals WA’s new deputy leader, replacing the outgoing Jacqui Boydell.
Nationals WA leader Mia Davies congratulated Mr Love on the appointment ahead of next year’s State election.
Mr Love has served two terms as the Member for Moore and was recently Nationals WA’s whip.
He attended high school in Albany and completed a Bachelor of Commerce at the University of WA.
Between 2004-2013 Mr Love was Shire of Dandaragan president, capping 12 years as a local government councillor.
Mr Love thanked his Nationals colleagues for their vote of confidence.
“I’ve been in Parliament since 2013 and I saw how under the Nationals’ stewardship Royalties for Regions projects transformed regional communities across the State,” he said.
Ms Davies also recognised Ms Boydell, a Member for Mining and Pastoral Region who last month announced she would not re-contest her seat, for her service as deputy leader.
“Jacqui has been an outspoken advocate for regional WA,” Ms Davies said.
“She has been a warrior both on the frontline as an MP, and behind the scenes in our organisation.
“I have been proud to have her standing by me as my Deputy Leader and she is to be congratulated for her service to regional WA.”
