Patriot a winner for Case

Case IH's 4430 Patriot sprayer was named IRON Product of the Year by US publication CropLife in its annual awards.

The awards, which were announced recently at the Agricultural Association Conference and Exposition in Boca Raton, Florida, are similar to a people's choice award, with readers voting on a shortlist of agricultural equipment introduced during the calendar year.

"The award acknowledges the 4430 as a machine which delivers contractors and producers improved efficiency in the field along with the ability to cover more hectares and increase accuracy while lowering fuel consumption," Case IH marketing manager Kerry McCauley said.

"Given that all new agricultural equipment introduced during the calendar year can be nominated for the award, we were thrilled with the news that the Patriot 4430 sprayer came out on top, receiving more than half of all votes."

The Patriot 4430 features a Case IH FPT 8.7-litre engine, which delivers 12 per cent more horsepower than its predecessor. Rated at 325hp, the Patriot 4430 has the ability to grow to 356hp to deliver power for tough conditions.

"Our Patriot sprayers are well-known for their ability to ensure accurate application to enable operators to make the most of short spraying windows," Mr McCauley said.

With a forward-facing cab and rear engine, Patriot sprayers provide optimum weight distribution in-field to minimise compaction. Accurate and consistent chemical application is delivered via the optional and Case IH-exclusive AIM Command pulse width modulation spray technology.

"Comfort is also a given, with the cab offering 3.73 cubic metres of interior space and more than 8.36 square metres of glass for optimal visibility," Mr McCauley said.

To complete the package, the 4430 can be fitted with Case IH's Pro 700 colour display for full guidance and application control.

The CropLife IRON awards started in 2007, with the Patriot 3380 model named a finalist in 2008.

Last year was the first time Case IH had taken out the award.
