Flexi-Coil Australia will return to the Dowerin GWN7 Machinery Field Days this year to showcase its growing range of big-capacity machines, including the new 60 series air carts and the 5500 air drills.

Flexi-Coil Australia’s brand leader, Steve Mulder, says the 60 series is designed to deliver increased productivity and efficiency and sets a new standard in seeding.

“Dowerin field days attract broadacre growers who are looking to improve productivity and efficiency on farm, so I know there’s going to be a lot of interest in the 60 series,” Mr Mulder said.

“My team and I are looking forward to talking to growers about how they’re innovating within their operations and the importance of starting with the right equipment.”

Mr Mulder said he expected growers to be especially interested in the 20,439 litre 5560 air cart, which features an easy to operate fast-fill conveyor with remote control for increased productivity.

“What is really exciting about these machines is the new FlexRate sectional control, which allows you to individually control up to 10 sections of the air cart, giving greater application accuracy and control than ever before and eliminates double application of seed and fertiliser,” he said.

Also on display at Dowerin will be a 70-foot 5500 air drill. The 5500 range now includes an 80-foot model, which Steve said was the brand’s biggest yet and can boost planting productivity by 33 per cent.

The 5500 air drill series also comes in a 60-ft working width.

The 5500 has a unique configuration consisting of two front ranks, which follow the contours of the land at a depth set by the nearby castor assemblies, and two rear ranks, which follow the ground the press wheels run on. This allows it to achieve exact and repeatable sowing depth.

“Its narrow transport width and height is something that sets the 5500 apart,” Mr Mulder said.

“This is a straight tyne machine which has good trash clearance and can be equipped with either spring or hydraulic trips.”

The 5500 air drill and 60 series air cart are available for 2017 forward order now.
