Socials: WA’s dairy big day
Rain failed to deter the hundreds of people who flocked to Northcliffe last week for Western Dairy’s 20th annual Dairy Innovation Day.
Dairy farmers ventured to Bannister Downs Dairy for this year’s event hosted at Mat and Sue Daubney’s processing facility last Friday.
Delegates toured Bannister Downs’ automatic milking rotary, before Mr and Mrs Daubney gave an insight into the operation.
Fellow Northcliffe farmers Wally and Julie Bettink also spoke about their new rotary platform with Western Dairy’s Kirk Reynolds.
Attendees then travelled to the Bettinks’ property, Westland Acres, to view their new rotary, installed in June last year. A gala dinner in Pemberton concluded proceedings, which included an address from Queensland health scientist Anneline Padayachee.
